Going Out
You can spend some of your leisure time going out.
You can go out by yourself or in a group.
There are different places to go out.
Going out usually costs money.

There are a lot of different places to go out.
Some places are expensive, others are cheap or even free.

- To a restaurant or cafe.
- The cinema or live theatre.
- To the pub or to a night club.
- To a public event like a fireworks display.
- To a friends house.
- To a park or nature reserve.
Transport to get there
Sometimes it is difficult to go out because of transport.
There are different types of transport you can use.
- Make your own way by walking or riding a bike.
- On a bus or train - check the timetable before going.
- Catch a taxi - this can be very expensive and not always accessible.
- Someone you know could give you a lift in a car.
Be Safe
When you go out make sure that you stay safe.
You could tell someone else where you are going and what time you will be back.
Only travel with people you know and trust.
Make sure you can get home, check the bus times.
If you ride a bike at night use lights and always wear a helmet.
If you feel worried or scared go where there is a phone and a lot of people.

There are different ways to find places to go out.

- Find a local entertainment guide in a shop or library.
- Look in the phone book for pubs or clubs.
- Go to the Tourist Information centre.
