Mental Health
What is Mental Health?
Mental health is used to describe how someone feels in their mind.
When you have a Mental health issue you might feel that...
- You can't make a decision.
- Your emotions are confusing.
- You stop talking to people or communicating.
- Your life gets to be too much to manage.
What can you do?
Many people have a time in their life when they are sad, confused, or upset.
Talking to someone might help you to feel better.
People who you can talk to when you feel sad...
- A Friend or Family member
- Your Key Worker or Social Worker
- A Doctor
- A Counsellor
- A Psychologist
- The Samaritans
Sometimes a Doctor or Psychologist might...
- Tell you to take time off to relax.
- Give you medicine to make you feel better (anti-depressants).
- Admit you to a hospital for a short time.
- Refer you to a counsellor for therapy.
- Refer you to a support group.
- Get someone to support you in your life.
