Paying Bills
Whether you live by yourself or in a group home there are always bills to pay.
Sometimes the staff or your carer will take care of paying the bills for you.
It is a good idea to know about what bills you have to pay and how much you spend.
Keeping track of your money is a way of making sure you have enough money to spend on the things you want.
A way of keeping track of your money is to write a budget.
Writing a Budget
A budget is a list of your income and what you spend.
Your income includes
- Benefits
- Living Allowances
- Wages
- Interest from the Bank
- Money from Parents or carers
- Direct Payments
What you spend includes
Rent
- Food
- Clothes
- Transport
- Leisure activities
- Power and Phone bills
- Things you buy
If you spend more than you get in income then you will go into debt.
If you spend less then you get in income you can save your money.
When you write a budget write down the cost of your spending and income.
